MONTCLAIR

Montclair is a Connecticut post-hardcore band built around passionate, genuine, and aggressive songwriting. Formed in 2021, the band has spent the past several years putting in work throughout the Northeast scene and touring DIY across the country on several tours. Their growing catalog show's the band’s evolution both sonically and personally, moving through different lineups and sounds as they’ve grown into the unit they are today.

Drawing from the late ’90s and early 2000s worlds of post-hardcore, emo, melodic hardcore, and alternative rock, Montclair pulls influence from bands like Thursday, Cave In, Cursive, Thrice, Planes Mistaken for Stars, and My Chemical Romance. Their music balances emotional vulnerability, particularly lyrically, with the weight and intensity of hardcore, exploring identity, anxiety, self-doubt, and inner strength it takes to exist in today's world.

Rooted in the Connecticut hardcore community, Montclair has built a reputation around an emotional and forceful live show and a sense of connection with the people and bands around them. Their music reflects that same sense of personal conviction, with each release marking another step in the band’s ongoing evolution.
