"Under the Altar" is a direct follow up to "All is Vapor". It shares lyrical themes, sonic elements, and even song titles, but it stands on its own as a proper record. It is Porcupine at their most realized, finding them at their most repetitive, contemplative, and melodic as well as being the most chaotic and anarchic release to date. If "All is Vapor" was conceptual, then "Under the Altar" is personal. "Under the Altar" is a journal entry on love, death, suffering, and ultimately the futility of life.
The 6 panel digipak CD also includes the band's 2024 LP "All Is Vapor".
