Hailing from the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey area, Sunstroke is a melodic hardcore band that channels the raw energy of 1980s DC hardcore into a modern, politically charged sound. Drawing inspiration from bands like Dag Nasty, Embrace, and Rites of Spring, as well as 80s Brit-pop and shoegaze influences, Sunstroke crafts music that is both emotionally resonant and sonically compelling.

Formed in 2016 by longtime friends, the band began as a collective effort to create the kind of music they wanted to hear. Their debut LP, Second Floor/Seven, released in 2018, showcases their ability to blend socio-political themes with melodic hardcore, addressing issues like systemic injustice and inequality with urgency and insight.

Sunstroke's music is more than just sound—it's a call to action, a reflection of the world around us, and a testament to the power of music as a vehicle for change.
