arson was born from a simple but persistent idea. What began as a conversation in a venue parking lot between Ben and Nate quickly evolved into writing sessions stretching from Charleston, South Carolina, to Jacksonville, Florida. Joined by current and former bandmates from both cities, the project became a five-piece sonic assault rooted in shared experience and a singular vision. Together, they wrote the eight songs that make up arson's debut release.
Drawing from the uglier, more confrontational side of mid-to-late '90s aggressive music, arson looks to the bands that doubled down on grit while heavy music chased mainstream success. Inspired by acts like His Hero is Gone, The Swarm, and Disfear, with modern nods to Torch Runner and Dead In The Dirt, the band's sound is abrasive, unsettling, and deeply DIY. The result is a 10-minute exercise in sonic excess that feels as dangerous as it does deliberate.
Comprised of current and former members of Colonial Wound, Excide, and Show Me Mary, arson delivers a barrage of sharp, blistering songs that reject polish in favor of impact. At a time when hardcore has again found mass visibility, the band digs beneath the surface and back to the genre's DIY roots.

Hostile, memorable, and cathartic, arson's debut arrives with no pretense.
